The quality of the earcups is among the best that can be found on the headset market today. In the test with Apple Music HD via Bluetooth, the Voyager 2 resolved high-resolution music better than Apple's AirPods Pro! The same sound was found when using a direct transmission using Audirvana and the included BT700 Bluetooth dongle, which otherwise transmits frequencies at a fixed 48kHz (microphone return channel: 16kHz).
Compared to the B&W PI4, there was a slight weakness in the bass range, which the Focus2 makes up for with an incredibly accurate resolution in the mid and high range, and this without overdriving. The Focus 2 is in no way inferior to the Encore Pro 700 Digital. The radio connection is stable and the sound quality is absolutely brilliant even with very difficult to understand remote stations. The question of whether the switch from its predecessor, the Plantronics Voyager Focus is worthwhile, can be answered with an unequivocal YES. When it comes to sound fidelity, Poly clearly closes the bag and clearly stands out from the competition and all previous models that have existed so far. Regardless of whether it's listening to music, conferencing, telephoning - you actually don't want to take the part off anymore. The sound is convincing in almost every respect. The Bluetooth connection has become noticeably more stable and interference-resistant. The noise canceling microphone regulates properly so that hardly any extraneous noises are transmitted to the remote station.
The noise suppression has also increased compared to its predecessor, although you shouldn't expect any miracles from the Focus 2 due to the "on-ear" design.
