SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB Xbox 360 Headset Review

My Xbox 360 headset was broken last month. After searching and comparing for long time, I ordered the Steel Series, Spectrum 5XB at last.

It seemed sturdy, cool and well constructed when it arrived. The setup only took me 5 minutes. Just plug it in and this headset instantly worked with my Xbox. It works well with the Windows 7, too That's great for me as I am a pc gamer.

I won't be more pleased with the comfort. It feels snug and lightweight, I can wear this headset for 3 hours non-stop use without experience headaches or neck pain. The pads that fit around the outside of your ears keeps all sounds between the ear pads and your ears. Compared to my last Sony PS3 headset which hurt my ears, this item is extremely comfortable for long gaming session.

The sound quality is better than other gaming headsets I have owned. I tested it with my favorite games: CoD 4 and Halo 2, the game sounds were clear and crisp, with a lot of bass. The enemy's footstep sounded clear and the surround sound was impressive. Since I used it for video games, I could hear more details in sound while gaming.

The voice that comes from the microphone sounds clear and loud, without any background noise, especially great for Teamspeak. My friends could hear me clearly since I used this headset to replace last Xbox 360 headset.

Pros:

- The cord is not enough long for me.
